This session will identify and expand on major changes addressing their cause and effect.
Accelerating depletion of non-renewable energy sources has triggered a decade of energy use restrictions and environmental standards impacting the design of lighting fixtures and applications. Recent and upcoming updates to legislation, standards and regulations will be reviewed.
This session will also focus on lighting trends and how these will affect lighting professionals and their customers. Lighting design was very different 10 years ago. What will it look like in 2020? Quantum dots, graphene, wireless electricity & solar paint seem futuristic but are functional already. Solid State Lighting is now focused on the energy saving aspects of LED's with OLED products now penetrating the market. In addition to addressing current LED concerns we will review new case studies and advancements to conventional lighting technology. All provide hope for reduced energy consumption, less maintenance and environmentally sound solutions. Will quality be sublimated to these other drivers?
We can become part of the solution if we are informed or we can be blindsided by the quick pace and unprecedented game changers we face. This presentation is designed to inform about recent developments that are likely or have the potential to impact the lighting industry. Attendees will be able to identify trends that enhance their credibility, enable them to visualize new solutions and understand upcoming industry shifts.
